Egg-cellent Easter Holiday Activities in Edinburgh

Knowing what to do in the Easter holidays can be tricky. Have no fear, as we have put together a list of great activities for the whole family. Read on for our top finds in Edinburgh.
Hop along to one of the many National Trust for Scotland properties where you can take part in an Easter Egg Trail and explore the properties in depth from 18 to 21 April 2025. There are five locations within Edinburgh, the Lothians and Borders (Malleny Garden, House of the Binns, Newhailes House and Gardens, Preston Mill and Priorwood Garden).
Held in multiple venues across the city, such as public spaces, museums and galleries, Edinburgh Science Festival is jam-packed with fascinating interactive exhibits and workshops to keep all budding scientists engaged. The programme runs from 5-20 April 2025.
Visit Camera Obscura & World of Illusions for a fun-packed Easter trail spread over their five floors. Spot the colourful bunnies hiding amongst the interactive exhibits, enjoy the seasonal decorations and take a selfie on the rooftop terrace. Make sure to stop by the gift shop to collect an egg-citing treat on your way out.
Come aboard The Royal Yacht Britannia and follow in the footsteps of Royalty with a tour of this unique ship. Spot the cuddly corgis as you tour Britannia’s five decks, discover what life was like at sea for the Royal Family and crew of Royal Yachtsmen by exploring the State Apartments, the Crew’s Quarters, and the Engine Room, with a complimentary audio guide. Why not enjoy a gooey slice of chocolate fudge cake or a hot chocolate in the Royal Deck Tearoom where you can relax and enjoy the picturesque views over the Firth of Forth.
