Weekly Snaps
31 January 2025
Photography has always played an important role on Britannia. While she was in service, there was always a 'Yottie' appointed, nicknamed 'Snaps', to take photographs of life aboard the Royal Yacht.
In keeping with this tradition, we now have our own Photographer in Residence, Ruth McQuiggan, who has been capturing our very own Weekly 'Snaps' - a collection of snapshots of life around the ship today.

Visitors are most welcome to take photos while touring Britannia's five decks, creating memories of their day aboard.

Alex, Visitor Assistant, leading the Housekeeping and Facilities teams on a tour to share the history of the Royal Yacht.

Stunning views across the Firth of Forth are enjoyed while tasting the sweet and savoury treats from the Royal Deck Tearoom's menu.

A favourite from the Tearoom menu, our fruit scones are baked daily in the onboard Royal Galley, best enjoyed with strawberry preserve and clotted cream.

The Stabiliser Compartment was an important component in Britannia's design. The stabilisers reduced the rolling motion of the ship during stormy weather.

From the Bridge, Britannia was commanded as she sailed across the world. Here Officers navigated, log books were recorded and orders were issued.

Each topped with a colourful crown and diamante detailing, these pencils are a must-have souvenir for any stationery lover.

Take home a new friend from aboard Britannia. This sweet mini corgi plush is available to purchase from our Gift Shop.

Andrea, Restaurant Chef, adding finishing touches to the beautifully presented heritage beetroot salad, available on The Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar's dinner menu.
